Chobe National Park was established in 1967 and is Botswana's first national park. It's divided into four distinct ecosystems: the Chobe Riverfront, the Ngwezumba Pans, Savuti, and Linyanti. Each area offers a unique landscape and wildlife viewing experience. The Chobe Riverfront is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, while Savuti is known for its predator activity and dramatic landscapes. Activities in Chobe National Park include game drives, boat safaris on the Chobe River, and birdwatching. The boat safaris offer a unique perspective on the wildlife, allowing you to get close to animals as they come to the river to drink. Game drives provide opportunities to explore the different ecosystems within the park and spot a wide variety of animals, including lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, and numerous antelope species. While there are no specific culinary traditions within the park, lodges and safari operators offer a range of dining options, often featuring local ingredients.
