Transportation

The easiest way to reach Aktun Chen is by renting a car and driving from Akumal or Playa del Carmen. The drive is relatively short and well-signposted. Alternatively, you can take a colectivo (shared minivan) from Akumal towards Tulum and ask the driver to drop you off at Aktun Chen. From the highway, it's a short walk to the entrance. Taxis are also available, but they are generally more expensive than colectivos or renting a car.
