Transportation
The Farol do Arnel is best reached by car. From Nordeste, follow the signs towards the lighthouse. Be aware that the road leading down to the lighthouse is extremely steep and narrow. It is advisable to park at the top and walk down, especially if you are not comfortable driving on such a challenging road. Bus line 103 from Nordeste to Furnas stops near the top of the road leading to the lighthouse, requiring a steep walk down.
