Cover's Apple Ranch: A Taste of Autumn All Year Round Guide

Escape the ordinary and step into a world of rustic charm at Cover's Apple Ranch, a family-owned orchard nestled in the heart of Columbia. More than just a place to pick apples, Cover's is an experience, a celebration of the simple pleasures of farm life. Imagine crisp autumn air (even in summer!), the sweet scent of apples hanging heavy on the branches, and the joyful laughter of families creating memories. Whether you're a seasoned apple connoisseur or simply looking for a fun day out, Cover's Apple Ranch promises a delightful escape. Cover's Apple Ranch has been a Columbia staple for generations, evolving from a small family farm to a beloved community gathering place. While the exact history is closely guarded family lore, the story goes that the original Cover family planted their first apple trees in the early 20th century. Over the years, they've expanded their orchards, added a bakery, and created a welcoming space for visitors to connect with nature and enjoy the fruits (literally!) of their labor. The ranch has become synonymous with fall festivals, apple cider donuts, and a genuine sense of community spirit. At Cover's, the possibilities are endless! Of course, apple picking is the main draw, with a variety of apple types available depending on the season. Beyond the orchard, you can indulge in freshly baked apple pies, warm apple cider donuts (a must-try!), and homemade apple butter. Kids will love the petting zoo and playground, while adults can relax on the porch with a cup of hot cider and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. During the fall, they often host special events like hayrides, corn mazes, and live music. Don't forget to visit the country store for unique gifts, local honey, and other farm-fresh goodies. Speaking of culinary traditions, Cover's Apple Ranch is renowned for its apple-centric treats. Their apple cider donuts are legendary, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, with a hint of cinnamon and spice. The homemade apple pies are another crowd-pleaser, filled with juicy apples and a flaky crust. And don't miss the opportunity to try their apple butter, a rich and flavorful spread that's perfect on toast, biscuits, or even straight from the jar!
