Animal Ark Guide

A Sanctuary for Wildlife: Get Up Close and Personal at Animal Ark Guide

Animal Ark is a unique wildlife sanctuary located just north of Reno, Nevada. It's dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of North American wildlife. Unlike a traditional zoo, Animal Ark focuses on providing a natural habitat for animals that cannot be released back into the wild due to injury or other circumstances. It offers visitors a chance to observe these magnificent creatures up close and learn about their natural behaviors and the challenges they face in the wild. Founded in 1981, Animal Ark began as a small rescue operation and has grown into a respected wildlife sanctuary and educational center. The organization's mission is to promote wildlife conservation through education and responsible animal care. They work closely with wildlife agencies and other organizations to provide a safe haven for animals in need and to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our natural environment. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about the animals and their stories, including wolves, bears, eagles, bobcats, and more. The sanctuary offers various programs and events throughout the year, including educational presentations, animal feedings, and special holiday celebrations. While Animal Ark doesn't have a specific culinary tradition, they often host events with food vendors. You can also find restaurants in nearby Reno.
