Transportation
Brainard Lake Recreation Area is accessible by car. From Ward, take Brainard Lake Road (County Road 112). During peak season (summer), a timed entry permit is required to enter the recreation area. Reservations can be made online through Recreation.gov. The Boulder County Nederland FlexRide provides limited service to the area, but it's best to check their schedule and availability in advance.
